Greetings! First, Here’s an update from Washington, D.C. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) issues its revised Recommended Security Guidelines for Airport Planning, Design and Construction to the industry, providing guidance on subjects encompassing airport layout, security screening, emergency response, access control and communications; www.tsa.gov.
Secondly, Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) announces that Iowa receives over $740,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to evaluate air service in the state and conduct an airport land use planning study.
Thirdly, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issues a notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that would expand the number of travelers that would be required to undergo US-VISIT processing when entering the U.S., including Legal Permanent Residents, immigrant visa holders, Canadian nationals (excluding business and pleasure travelers staying in the U.S. for less than 90 days), refugees, and asylees, those paroled into the U.S., and the travelers entering under the GUAM Visa Waiver Program. Comments due by August 28, 2006. www.dhs.gov.
Fourthly, Here’s an Update Concerning Missouri Aviation. The only Airports and Aviation Bills are as follows:

Every group of pilots and taxpayers carries a strong voice to Washington, D.C., as well as at the State and Local Level.
